Sorority Row (2009)
Sorority Row is American horror movie, directed by Stewart Hendler, the film stars Briana Evigan, Leah Pipes, Rumer Willis, Jamie Chung, Margo Harshman, Audrina Patridge, and Carrie Fisher. Produced by Summit Entertainment and written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, the film is a remake of the 1983 slasher film The House on Sorority Row, directed by Mark Rosman. Sorority Row was released on September 9, 2009 in the UK and September 11.
After they find out that guy cheated on sister, sorority house Theta Pi play a simple prank on him. They trick him into thinking that he has killed his girlfriend, then take him into the middle of nowhere to ‘dismember” the body, only then revealing it was a prank. However, the prank goes horribly wrong and all involved swear never to speak of it again. A year later at graduation though, they are all reminded of the past.

It is a prequel to the theatrical films Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, in the vein of Brian Levant’s previous work The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. The music is scored by Academy Award-nominee David Newman. The MPAA gave the film a PG rating for “some mild peril”. The film takes place in Coolsville, Ohio and begins as the cast is introduced on the Coolsville High bus. As Shaggy walks down the aisle, one of the school’s jocks trips him.

Pandorum (2009)
The film stars Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster. Filming began in Berlin in August 2008. Pandorum was released on September 25, 2009 in the United States, and is due to be released on October 2, 2009 in the UK. Two astronauts, Bower and Payton, wake to find themselves drifting through space 500 billion miles from Earth and with no memory of who they are, what they are doing, or what has happened to the crew of their 60,000 passenger sleeper ship. They are unable to access the ship’s bridge, and cannot communicate with any other members of the crew, including the flight team they are to relieve. While exploring the spacecraft under Payton’s radio guidance, Bower encounters several other surviving crew members, and the astronauts start to learn that a terrible event has occurred on board which might have affected the survival of the entire human race.

Jennifer’s Body (2009)
This film, directed by Karyn Kusama and stars Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody and Johnny Simmons. Fox portrays Jennifer Check, a newly possessed teenage serial killer specializing in “offing” her male classmates as best friend “Needy” Lesnicki, portrayed by Seyfried, strives to stop her. The film had premiere at the 2009 Toronto IFF and was released in the US and Canada on September 18, 2009, with an R rating in the U.S. and a 14A rating in Canada. The title is a reference to a song from Hole’s album Live Through This. Another song from the album, “Violet”, is played over the end credits. As a tie-in to the film, Boom! Studios produced a Jennifer’s Body graphic novel, released in August 2009. Working with Cody again following their collabrative efforts on the film Juno, Jason Reitman stated he and his producers “want to make unusual films”.

9 is a computer animated short film by Shane Acker released in 2005 as a student project. Tim Burton saw the film and was so impressed by its artistic vision that he went on to produce a feature-length adaptation called 9 (2009), directed by Acker and distributed by Focus Features. 9 is a sentient rag doll who appears to be the last of his kind, living in the ruins of a decaying parallel world, and is hunted relentlessly by the Cat Beast, a mechanical monster that has killed seven of his rag doll kindred by stealing their souls with a canister-like talisman and wore their skins as clothing. 9 was formerly accompanied by his friend and mentor, the one-eyed 5, with whom he scavenged the ruins of their world in search of tools that would help them survive. However, the Cat Beast attacked 5 and stole his soul with its talisman.

Whiteout (2009)

Julie & Julia is a comedy-drama 2009 film written and directed by Nora Ephron. The film depicts events in the life of chef Julia Child in the early years in her culinary career, contrasting her life with Julie Powell, who aspires to cook all 524 recipes from Child’s cookbook during a single year. Ephron’s screenplay is adapted from two books: My Life in France, Child’s autobiography, written with Alex Prud’homme, and a memoir by Julie Powell. In August 2002, Powell started documenting online her daily experiences cooking each of the 524 recipes in Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and she later began reworking that blog, The Julie/Julia Project, into a book, Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen (Little, Brown, 2005). The paperback was retitled Julie & Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously (Back Bay Books, 2006). Both books adapted by Ephron were written and published in the same time frame of 2004 to 2006.
